This award winning family run park is located within four miles of Bowness on Windermere, at the very centre of the Lake District - in spectacular open and unspoilt countryside set in 25 acres with unrivalled, breathtaking views.

The park has an abundance of woodland wildlife including squirrels, roe and red deer, foxes and many birds such as nut hatch, treecreeper, woodpecker and jay.

Whether you come to Park Cliffe with a tourer or tent, hire a caravan or camping pod, or own your own luxury holiday home, Park Cliffe gives you the opportunity for peaceful enjoyment of this most beautiful corner of The Lake District National Park - with a range of modern up-to-date facilities which are hard to beat.

The Park is open from 1st March until mid November.

Bring your touring caravan to the English Lake District

The touring park offers spacious pitches, thoughtfully designed into the natural contours of the park. All pitches have electricity, drinking water and waste drainage. Most pitches have beautiful views of Moor How, which is easily accessible through the children's playground, the walk is just the right length to stretch one's legs.

All our touring pitches have drinking and waste water drainage and electric hookup. The heated shower block has the highest quality fittings and we also have a bathroom that can be booked for your use on an hourly basis.

Camping in the English Lake District

We have two camping areas for tents. The first, Ghyll Side, allows you to reserve your pitch, with electrical hookup if you so desire. This area is across a minor lane from the main site. The second area, Fell Side, offers magnificent views down the lake towards the Langdales and across to Coniston Old Man from its undulating slopes. On Fell Side you choose your own area to camp. If you want height of luxury whilst you are camping why not hire one of our private bathrooms for your own personal use during your stay?

We have caravan holiday homes for hire for weeks and short breaks. All accommodate up to 4 persons and are non-smoking and pet free. Full details available on our website.

Camping Pods now available to hire. Bring everything but your tent. Standard pods will accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, our family pod will accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children or even 4 adults. Sorry no smoking or pets are allowed in the pods.

Our Facilities.

Private bathrooms are also available, which can be let throughout your stay. Each bathroom has a bath, basin, drying rack, toilet and heated towel rail. These are entirely private and your personal belongings can be left there during your holiday.

There is also a fully equipped laundrette, licensed restaurant and bar with a take away and packed lunch service and well stocked licensed minimarket. Free wi-fi is available in the restaurant (when open - check website for details).

For children we have a purpose built adventure play area. Older children may enjoy our small games room, which has a pool table and various arcade machines.

Mail may be posted and collected from the estate office where you will find a wide selection of leaflets and helpful information. Our friendly staff are always on hand to be of service.

This is not a commercial park. There are no discos or 'manufactured' entertainments. It is thoughtfully designed to blend with the country and appeal to the visitor wishing to enjoy the tranquil and breathtaking beauty of the Lake District.

Park Cliffe is especially attractive to the family caravanner or camper. The entertainments and facilities of Bowness and Windermere are just a few minutes drive away.

Windermere Lake Cruises offer a wide choice of sailings from Ambleside to Lakeside (covering most of Lake Windermere).

William Wordsworth's Home (Dove Cottage)
Dove Cottage was the home of William Wordsworth from December 1799 to May 1808, the years of his supreme work as a poet. It was built, probably in the early part of the 17th century, as a small hostelry. With its oak-panelled hall and floors of Westmorland slate, Dove Cottage never fails to give pleasure to the visitor.

Aquarium Of The Lakes
From mountain-top to Morecambe Bay the award-winning Aquarium of the Lakes takes you on an amazing voyage of discovery. More than 30 spectacular, naturally-themed habitats bring the natural history of the Lake District vividly to life. Enjoy close encounters with hundreds of amazing creatures including trout, eels, pike, perch, giant crabs, rays and many more.

Beatrix Potter Attraction
In an indoor re-creation of the Lakeland countryside, complete with sights, sounds and even smells, discover Peter Rabbit? Eating radishes in Mr. McGregor's garden; see Jemima Puddle-duck? Amongst the foxgloves; and Mrs. Tiggy-winkle?, the washerwoman, bustling about in her kitchen. Tales of Beatrix Potter brought lovingly to life.
