Lone Wolf Campsite at Glyn Y Mul Farm Aberdulais

Camping on grass fields or alternatively in a woodland site on a family run working small holding 5 miles from Neath. Very good access from the M4 junction 43 or the A465 Heads of the Valleys road.

Caters mainly for light weight tent campers and has become a recognised base for mountain bikers using the Afan Forest tracks which are 10 miles from the farm. It is also popular with bird watches, wildlife enthusiasts and waterfall chasers. Caravans are accepted but access is along a single track lane so a telephone enquiry first is essential.

Numbers are kept fairly low so booking is essential, the further in advance the better. The site has a strict no noise or music policy and is very much aimed at people wanting a complete break from commercial busy type sites. Children need to be well supervised and dogs on a lead at all times.

Small camp fires are permitted in braziers provided by the site.

The site is ideally placed for people visiting the Gower, Brecon Beacons, local waterfalls, Swansea, Neath, Dan Yr Ogof Caves and Afan Argoed.

The site is 5 miles from junction 43 of the M4. Typical distances from the farm are Swansea 10 miles, Gower 15 miles, Mumbles 13 miles and Cardiff 45 miles.

The site sells fishing permits for the Neath and Dulais Rivers and there is a golf range 1 mile from the site.

Being a small non-commercial site there is no shop or entertainment on the farm, however there is a 24 hour Tesco with fuel and cash points 4 miles away. A local pub named the 'Dulais Rock' serves food during summer and is 1 mile from the farm.

'Ray Mears' style bush camping is available by arrangement in a 15 acre woodland alongside the River Dulais - phone or e-mail for details. Advance booking is absolutely essential and the preferred means of contact is e-mail. Don't just turn up!

Charges for 2010 are £6 per night per adult, and £3 per night per child (3 to 15 yrs) The farm sells firewood if required. Have a good look at the farms own web site before enquiring.
