Les étangs (the ponds) offers luxury tented accommodation in idyllic surroundings on a working smallholding in Central France. Three large luxury safari lodge tents set in 7 acres of un-spoilt and largely undiscovered, French countryside. Glamping defined!

Each lodge has an attached private shower, hand basin and a dry toilet, it’s own kitchen, private veranda, BBQ and fire pit, combining the luxury of a hotel with the amenities of a private residence. Glamping may becoming an over used phrase, but glamorous camping it is. All the great bits about camping, immersing oneself in nature, sleeping under the stars and sitting around a campfire, without the less desirable aspects of shared facilities and uncomfortable mattresses.

Les étangs offers you the opportunity to be close to nature in true luxury and style, from the king size beds to the wood floors, the Egyptian cotton sheets to the large fluffy towels usually found in five star hotels. The Lodges are strategically situated around the property to ensure great views, ambiance and privacy.

At over 20m2 of living space with a further 12m2 of covered veranda the lodges are spacious. They are also well equipped with everything you’ll need. Fabric drops allow the lodge to be sectioned into separate sleeping and living ‘rooms’ if requested. Soft solar lighting creates beautiful warmth when the sun goes down and each tent has a mains electricity socket for those essential items. The covered private kitchen area on the veranda offers a sink, two gas burners and all the utensils, cutlery and crockery you’ll need. As well as the kitchen, each lodge has a fire pit with Dutch oven and a BBQ so if you decide to cook, you’ll not be short of choices. Solar fairy lights mark the way from your lodge to other areas after sundown.

The King size beds are covered in Egyptian cotton, a Hypoallergenic sheep’s wool duvet naturally regulates your body temperature, keeping you comfortable whatever the temperature, we also offer a choice of pillows.

If the kids are with you they’ll be sure of a great nights sleep in our adult size camp beds snuggling up inside their quilted cotton sleeping bags. We also have cots available for babies.

Each tent has an attached dry toilet (composting), designed and built in Sweden and virtually indistinguishable from a ‘traditional’ toilet. The shower has plenty of hot, solar heated, mains pressure, running water and as we recycle all the grey water to irrigate the land so we provide a range of luxury natural toiletries made locally for your use.

Free Wifi is available around the farm house and communal seating area but unfortunately you’ll be unlikely to pick up the signal from your lodge.
