Here at The Travellers Rest we offer a traditional country pub and Restaurant experience with a gastro twist; our friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and the stunning surroundings of Meltham make us one of the best places to eat and drink around.

Located by the Pennines, the Travellers Rest is a popular location for passing walkers, and our child-friendly environment makes us a perfect location for all occasions! Our warm open fires and cosy atmosphere make for a welcoming setting, whether you are having a meal with your family or have just come for a drink with friends.

Our Menu specialises in a mix of traditional pub favourites along with some more exciting gastro delights to keep things fresh and interesting. Local sourcing of ingredients is an important element to our food, and everything we serve is fresh and home-made on site - we even rear and butcher some of our own meat.

Meltham is only a mile down the hill and is a pretty village with all the local amenities you would expect.

The campsite overlooks the first hill of the peak district national park with nearby walks into the Marsden Moors and/or the famous yorkshire reservoirs.

We have our own equestrian centre offering a wide range of equine activities for people of all abilities from ages 4 and up.

Pets are more than welcome, dogs are allowed in the pub at all times when on a lead. We are child friendly and muddy boot friendly also.
