During the day there is plenty to do here. Hiking, float the Merced River, walk through the meadows, climb on rocks and fallen trees. There is a free tram to take you around the valley. Horseback riding is available too.
The views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains are breath-taking. Yosemite National Park is open year around. There is something to do for everyone here. Bring your binoculars to watch the mountain climbers and your camera to capture the memories!
Wildlife of bears, deer, squirrels, racoons and more is sure to be seen on every visit. This park is the crown jewel of the National Park system.
Skiing, ice-skating and snow shoeing are available in the winter months. The famous Big Trees in the local Mariposa Grove are a must to see when you are here. 2,000-year-old trees that are bigger than you can imagine are worth taking the time to see.
Good food from several restaurants give you a good choice to eat at if you choose to eat out. Gift shops to browse through are here too.
The Merced River and surrounding lakes are stocked by the forestry, so fishing is always good!
Temperatures have a way of fluctuating in these high elevations, so dress accordingly.
Public restrooms, community showers and bear canisters are all readily available. The park and campsites are clean, well protected and here to be enjoyed.
