Common Barn Farm Campsite

Common Barn Farm is located in Rainow near Macclesfield, Cheshire. We have a designated area for campers, motorhomes and caravans situated within our 250 acres of farmland, making it an ideal location for a quiet and peaceful stay within the Peak District National Park. The camping field itself occupies a raised position and offers panoramic views across the surrounding countryside and nearby Lamaload Reservoir. The field is bordered by dry stone walls, beyond which is lush meadow farm land with grazing sheep and plenty of wildlife.

For caravans and motorhomes, we have a large gravel carpark located adjacent to our farm house. Electric is supplied by means of a cable from our barn. If you do not need electric, then you can park within one of the fields depending on weather conditions.

There is a public footpath passing through the farm which connects with the famous Gritstone trail and fly fishing is available at nearby Errwood Reservoir which is approximately 2.5 miles away. There are also two pubs within a 20 minute walk which offer real cask ales and traditional pub food.

Tea Room – open Wednesday to Sunday serving breakfasts and light lunches
Toilets – female and male washroom & plus disabled toilet

* There are currently no electrical hook-ups in the fields. Motorhomes and caravans can hook up in the main car park.

* There is cold water available from a tap outside of the Tea Room and hot water available from the washrooms.

* At present there are no shower facilities for campers, however a B & B room can be rented out if desired. Please see our rates for B & B rooms.

* As we are a farm, we have a very large area available for campers so you needn't worry about being too close to other pitches.

* There are no shops within walking distance; however our on site Tea Room will be able to supply essentials such as milk, tea & coffee. There is a 24 hour Tesco store only a 12 minute drive away in Macclesfield, and also a small off-license a little closer on the way to Rainow.

* A facility for freezing ice-packs is available.
