Proctors Stead Caravan and Camping Park

Proctor's Stead is a small, friendly, family run caravan and camping park situated one mile from the sea and surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty. The park itself is a level, sheltered, well-kept green, catering for up to approx. 60 caravans and tents.

Facilities
Our facilities include spotlessly clean showers, toilets and washbasins with hot water (facilities are cleaned at least twice daily); power points for shavers and hairdryers; dishwashing area. We also have a coin-operated washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Electric hook-ups available on request.

Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept tied up when on site and not permitted to roam. They are to be exercised off-site.

Food
Certain dairy produce is available from us at any time of the day. The nearest shop is in Craster (the setting for ITV's 'Distant Shores'), about one mile away. Craster is famous for its kippers and has a wonderful seasonal seafood restaurant, as well as a pub which over looks the sea. For those who do not wish to cook, the Cottage Inn is only a short stroll away and serves excellent bar and restaurant meals.

You may wish to visit the small picturesque fishing villages dotted along the coast or sample the wild delights of the Cheviot Hills, Ingram Valley (part of the National park) and moors. Lindisfane, also known as Holy Island is only a 35 minute drive and Berwick upon Tweed another 10 minutes, located on the border with Scotland.

Seahouses offers boat trips to the Farne Islands and Bamburgh has the magnificent Castle. Sandy beaches stretch from Craster as far as you have a mind to go.

Alnwick offers a fabulous Castle, home of the first Harry Potter film and the Alnwick Gardens with its unique water features are spectacular.

Heading down along the coast you can visit Alnmouth and Warkworth - both pretty villages not to be missed.
