Greendale has developed into a quiet adult only site geared to those wanting a calm and relaxing stay.

Ideal for walking, cycling [3/4mile from the National Byway cycle route], bird watching, art, eating out, heritage, Barnsdale Gardens and of course Rutland Water. This huge scenic reservoir has nature reserves [famous for the osprey project], sailing, fishing and cycle-routes [bike hire available] with attractive stone villages nearby.

We are a short walk from the village where excellent food is available with two pubs [one serving food] and a bistro/coffee shop/ delicatessen. There is also a working windmill renowned for its organic flour.

For each of the last six years the facilities have been improved. Greendale has the advantage of being small, a maximum of fifteen pitches, all well maintained with a mixture of hard standing, partial hard standing & grass.
Both the ladies & gents' shower/toilet blocks are kept very clean. We do not charge for showers!! Our now quite famous Sunday breakfasts are very popular with home made bread, local free range eggs, local butcher's sausages, local preserves etc. Our tourist information is extensive and we have a library with a good range of fiction. You can even make yourself a cup of tea or coffee whilst you are browsing.

The small shop covers basic produce and has built a reputation for superb dry cure bacon & local free-range eggs. Other items to watch for are village flour, honey, different preserves and chutneys.

Bird feeders are placed over the site so that most pitches have a view and bird boxes are being successfully used, including the declining tree sparrows. Wildflowers are encouraged & low light pollution means that Greendale is a great place to view the stars!

The site is now geared to those wanting a calm and relaxing stay & every visitor is assured of a warm welcome. The friendly ambience encourages many people to return time and time again!
