Homestead Lake Park is situated in the heart of the Tendring District also known as the Essex Sunshine Coast - one of the sunniest, driest areas of the United Kingdom with some of the safest, sandiest beaches in the land. Thousands of holidaymakers have been re-discovering the delights of the traditional English seaside holiday with the added benefit of a Mediterranean style climate!
As well as miles of clean, soft, sandy beaches to explore, the Essex Sunshine Coast has a wide variety of other delights to offer its many visitors.
This area of Essex remains one of the East of England's best kept secrets. With the beautiful Stour Valley to the North and the River Colne to the South, the area is full of history, quaint villages, rivers and creeks, unspoiled coast and famous Countryside. Unlike other areas, the Countryside has no major roads slicing through it although the centre of London is only an hour or so away. Instead there are a tangle of rivers used for recreation and relaxing and long stretches of sand washed by the sea.
There is plenty of variety for even the most demanding visitor with award winning beaches, safe bathing waters, water sports, lively resorts, historical sites, cultural activities, nature reserves, cycle paths, modern shopping centres, designer outlets and elegant parades, high quality pubs and restaurants, fish fresh from the sea and oysters fresh from their beds.
The area offers a busy events calendar throughout the summer season and beyond, with shows, festivals and fetes and don't miss the annual Air Show which is held on the Thursday/Friday before the August Bank Holiday, but you'll always find a spot for a bit of peace and quiet when you need it.
Come and spend some time on the Essex Sunshine Coast and re-discover the Great British Holiday!
