Camping Poutie
Come and visit one of France's best kept secrets - the Haute Dordogne valley.
At an altitude of 850 m, La Bourboule is situated along the banks of the Dordogne, crossed by a dozen bridges. It has retained the charm of the 'Belle Epoque'. Not only famous for the thermal spas, it is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor pursuits.
Our campsite is on the the south facing slopes of the 'Haute Dourdogne' valley less than one kilometre from the centre of the pretty spa town of La Bourboule famous for the treatment of respiratory disorders, allergies and skin conditions.
We are the new English owners of Camping Poutie which is a family orientated and quiet campsite that provides a great base to explore the 'Heart of the Auvergne', with all of its excellent outdoor activities such as walking, horse riding, mountain biking, site seeing, relaxing etc
The campsite is just 10 - 15 minutes walk from the centre of La Bourboule, with its casino, cinema, bars and restaurants and of course the 'Parc Fenestre' (12 hectares of fun for the children, amazingingly tall sequoia trees, train rides, pools, slides, swings, walks, telecabine to the Charlannes plateau etc)
The pitches are generous and level, many with shade and all with electrical hook ups. The sanitory blocks are newly renovated with plenty of hot water.
New for 2006 is the Boulangerie found at reception.
New for 2006 is a take away facility providing freshly baked pizzas, wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, ice creams, etc
Also new for 2006 is the newly refurbished family room (looks just like an old English pub!) where you can meet up with other guests on site and maybe enjoy a game of pool, electronic games or eat and drink if you wish.
The pool is heated in Summer and has the very latest in salt water systems.
