The Waun Wyllt Inn
The Waun Wyllt Inn .. where a warm welcome comes for free .. We are a destination pub, famous for real ales and fine food.
We are tucked away in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside, 3 miles to the North of Llanelli and 13 miles equidistant from both Swansea and Carmarthen.
The Inn is situated on the main trail used by walkers and cyclists exploring the beautiful landscape of the area. In fact, the National Cycle network track for the Celtic Trail (linking the coastal paths at Llanelli) is only 120 yards away.
The pub and restaurant facilities are open 7 days a week, trading between 11am - 11pm.
There is ample parking to both the side and the rear of the establishment, which is free to use.
Caravans
The Waun Wyllt offers 5 caravan pitches (each with their own electric hook-ups) within an enclosed area to the rear of the main building.
All caravan users are welcome within the main building for food and drink, although this is not compulsory.
The Waun Wyllt is an established feature within the Caravan Club member's handbook.
The rate for caravan pitches is £5 (&vat) per night, plus £2 (&vat) for electrical hook-up.
The Restaurant
The Waun Wyllt restaurant specialises in fresh meat and fresh fish, locally sourced, and prepared to a high standard. Our menu is a mixture of modern and traditional dishes, and also caters for several different specific dietary requirements.
Our range of fresh meat and fish changes on a daily basis, according to our local suppliers, or what the chef caught when fishing earlier in the day!!
Other Accommodation
The Waun Wyllt Inn has 4 letting bedrooms in a detached 'Chalet Style' lodge to the rear of the main complex. This accommodation is light, airy and well appointed and consists of three double rooms and one twin room.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making capabilities, electric central heating, televisions and radio alarm clocks.
The Waun Wyllt Inn
The Waun Wyllt Inn was built in the eighteenth century and is an impressive structure set in 2 acres of Carmarthenshire countryside.
The term Waun Wyllt means the Wild Moor or Wild Meadow, which is derived from its location nestled in the Sylen hills to the north of Llanelli.
In the years past, one can imagine the many, many weary travellers and locals who sought food, drink and shelter in the homely surroundings of the Waun Wyllt pub!! Come rain or shine, traveller, local or walker, the Waun Wyllt is a destination pub of charm and character where a warm welcome comes for free.
The Waun Wyllt Inn has been a family run business for many, many years and most recently was owned by the Pawson family.
However, in December 2005, the pub business was purchased by the Great Old Inns pub group who immediately set about a detailed schedule of substantial improvements.
