The Fairways Touring Caravan and Camping Park
Fairways Touring Caravan and Camping Park is a quiet family oriented caravan park on the edge of the Polden Hills in the heart of rural Somerset.
The park, which is a level land drained, 5.5 acre site has spaces for up to 200 tourers many of which have electric hook ups.
Features include a spacious centrally situated toilet block which apart from the normal facilities includes free showers, shaver and hair drying points, a baby's changing room, a washing up room, a laundrette, chemical emptying point and facilities for the disabled. Indeed the standard of these facilities is so high that Fairways has won the 'Loo of the Year Award' many times.
Also on the park is a children's play area, where youngsters can play in safety whilst not disturbing other guests and visitors. Visitors also have the use of a pool table and games machines which are located in the reception area. Other facilities include a large shop with which carries a good range of food. The Shop is well stocked with camping and caravanning acessories.
Campers are Welcome at Fairways
There are many fine seaside resorts to visit locally including Burnham on Sea which is only six miles away, the busy resort of Weston-Super-Mare, and a short drive away in the opposite direction, the all action town of Minehead.
Close by are the Quantock Hills where ramblers and cyclists can spend many a pleasant day enjoying their breathtaking beauty, and who knows may even catch a glimpse of the wild deer and ponies that roam free there.
Visitors to Fairways will find that it is a very friendly park and visitors are assured of a fine welcome from the owners. Indeed many of the guests return time and time again and it is quite common for tourers to be left on a seasonal basis as the site is secured each night.
There are also facilities for full time storage of caravans on the park.
And of course..... you just may see one of the many wild Rabbits !
Fairways is the ideal starting point to see many of Somerset's attractions from the world famous Cheddar Gorge just a few miles to the north, to the mysterious Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, fabled burial place of the legendary King Arthur.
The Bridgwater Carnival is World Famous and fun for all of the family. The floats are spectacular with up to 30,000 electric light bulbs on some floats and elaborate themes. Many people come back year after year for this spectacle. Don't forget, there is also the famous squibbing and the superb fireworks display at nearby Burnham on Sea.
