Hungry Hill Lodge Hostel and Camping

We have a fully serviced camping site set in three acres of lovely landscaped gardens.

Electrical hookup points are available and camping guests have the use of a basic camping kitchen and laundry machines are available.

All prices include unlimited hot showers and breakfasts are available in our cafe during summer months, as are soup, sandwiches, salads etc.

The Beara Peninsula is undoubtedly the most beautiful and undiscovered of the five finger like peninsulas that stretch out from the South-West corner of Ireland into the Atlantic Ocean. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty with rugged coastlines, sheltered harbours, shimmering lakes, soaring mountains, brightly painted villages and so much more.

For those in West Cork vacation or walking the Beara Way Walking Route we are the perfect place to stay as we are located midway between Glengarriff and Castletownbere. The recently opened Beara Cycling Route also passes right by us!

The stunningly beautiful Caha mountains, which crowd around Adrigole Harbour, offer fantastic hill-walking opportunities at all grades. Climb magnificent Hungry Hill ( 685 metres ), discover the hidden Lakes of Coomarkane and Coomadavallig ,and wonder at the Mares Tail Waterfall, the highest in Ireland.

Other nearby attractions include the Tim Healy Pass that meanders over the mountains into South Kerry

Whilst in Adrigole why not take advantage of the crystal clear waters of Bantry Bay. Learn to sail, go angling or just take a dip - its all here for you to enjoy!


Holiday Activities ..

There are always holiday activities and plenty of things to do and see in Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula. We can provide you with advice and information when you arrive.

The Beara Way offers a spectactular hillwalking around the Beara Peninsula. You can also try mountain climbing on the nearby Hungry Hill, which has lovely views of Bantry Bay from the top.

Diving - A wide range of shore dives, wreck dives and boat dives are available for novices as well as the most experienced divers.

The Beara Way Cycling Route.

Sea Angling Trips are available from nearby Castletownbere and Eyeries.

Try swimming at one of the Beara beaches, there are many attractive ones, both of the sand and pebble varieties.

Sea Kayaking; go for a half or full day trip on the waters of Bantry Bay. tuition available and all equipment supplied

There golf courses in both Glengarriff and Castletownbere, both are nine hole. The Glengarriff course is a nine hole golf course with a par of thirty three.

You can go horse riding or take horse riding lessons at Dunboy Equestrian Centre near Castletownbere.

Beara offers numerous attractions and historical remains. A few of these are: Bere Island, Dunboy Castles, Healy Pass, Ring of Beara, Allihies Copper Mines, Dursey Island cable car, many achaelogical sites - Ogham Stones, stone circles, forts. Also gardens - Garnish Italian Gardens, Dereen Tropical Gardens and Bantry House.
