Pear Tree Touring Park
Pear Tree is a small sheltered Touring Park on the edge of the Purbecks and about 5 miles west of Poole and is open from Easter until early October each year.
The park is very picturesque, with a quiet relaxing atmosphere and caters mainly for couples and families with young children.
Everything is quiet after 10.30 in the evening, so if you are looking for a peaceful holiday, without an on-site bar or entertainment, Pear Tree should be ideal for you.
Most people who stay with us come to enjoy the many countryside, beach and leisure attractions that Dorset and the Purbecks have to offer.
We have excellent facilities, including very modern toilets & showers and a very large play area for young children.
Well controlled dogs are welcome, there is a family pub a few minutes walk from the site and buses to Poole and Swanage stop just outside our gate.
Caravan & Motor Home Pitches
All of our Caravan and Motor Home pitches are individually numbered and all have a 10A electric hook-up.
Our fully serviced pitches, sometimes called super pitches, have a water supply and grey water drainage at your pitch.
Some serviced pitches also have all weather hard standings.
Serviced pitches, particularly those with hardstandings, are very popular and usually need to be booked in advance.
If you make it clear when booking, we can accommodate Motor Homes up to 10 metres (32 feet) in length.
Most pitches face west so have sun for much of the day.
Tent Pitches
We have a separate un-spoilt area of the park which is set aside for tents.
The tent pitches are all individually numbered and are allocated when you make a booking. Our pitches are fairly big and most can accommodate large modern tents. You can also park beside your tent.
We do not charge for gazebo's, however if you are intending to use one, you need to make this clear when booking so that we make sure you will have enough space.
Electric hook-ups are now standard with the majority tent pitches.
We allow tents on most parts of the site, however pitches 120 - 147 are reserved for tents; the Site Plan in the Fees & Bookings section of this web site will show you where the tent area is. All the pictures below were taken in the area reserved for tents.
Facilities
We have, very modern toilet facilities with free hot showers, private washing areas, baby changing & bathing, and limited disabled facilities.
Shop with basic foods (bread, milk etc), camping equipment, sweets and ice cream.
We stock Calor & Camping Gaz and provide ice pack freezing (20p).
Our laundry has washing machines, tumble dryers, spin drying and ironing facilities.
Night time 'street' lighting and the locked gates keep the park as safe as possible at night, we also have CCTV monitoring the entrance.
We have a good range of visitor information leaflets to help you explore.
Dog walking is available just outside the park.
There is a family pub serving food in few minutes walk.
We do not have entertainment or a bar on site.
Children's play park
Our play park is about an acre in size and is fully enclosed.
There is a range of play equipment as well as a large area for ball games.
The swings. climbing frame and trampolines etc are designed for younger children, for their safety, teenagers are not allowed to use them.
Although we feel this area is fairly safe, you remain responsible for the supervision of your children as the park is unsupervised.
