Exmoor is an ancient, beautiful and unspoilt landscape. A picturesque mixture of farmland, forest and open moor land. Primroses, snowdrops and bluebells all grow wild in the hedges and hidden lanes, also an abundance of other flowers, it just depends on which time of the year you visit. In the skies you can listen to the cries of the Curlews and song of the Skylarks, see Buzzards, Ravens and even the Barn Owl. Herds of the famous Exmoor Ponies and Red Deer roam free.
If you are seeking the peace and tranquillity to help you unwind or the exhilaration that comes from energetic outdoor recreation, Exmoor is the place for you.
There is some of the best riding country in Britain literally on the doorstep, through wooded valleys, carpets of bluebells in the spring and the purple heather in the summer and of course Exmoor is at its most dramatic in the winter. So if you have your own horse, bring it with you. We have a number of large stables, but of course you can go on escorted rides on hired horses.
Situated in the centre of the Exmoor National Park, Westermill Farm is an excellent base for exploring the pretty villages, the countryside and the dramatic coastline. Many of Exmoor's beauty spots such as Selworthy, Dunkery Beacon and the Doone Valley are all close by.
In an increasingly busy world, everyone has less and less time for themselves, and less time to do what they want to do. Time away becomes more important, something to look forward to, something to remember.
